East Flume IRM Sewer Rehab

This project involved lining a 60" Cast-In-Place Concrete storm sewer which was located in an area of contaminated groundwater. The storm drainage flowed into Onondaga Lake in Syracuse, NY. The primary contaminate was calcium carbonate which had leached into the sewer through cracks and cold joints. The significant build-up of scale had to first be removed using pneumatic spades and high pressure water. Steel bolsters were installed to maintain a uniform grout thickness. The PVC liner was spiral wound into the pipe and the annular space was grouted.
